Becky Cherry - President

30 year member of Sweet Adelines, all with the Shorelline Sound Chorus.  I have served as Financial Secretary and am currently the President of the chorus.  I was also Finance Coordinator for Region 2 for 6 years.  Musically I have been the lead section leader for 25 years and have sung in several quartets,  achieving 1st place four times.

I am currently employed by Evoqua Water Technologies and work in the finance group.  My hobbies are singing, of course, reading, and traveling.

My goal is to provide a healthy environment for our members to learn and have fun in the process.  Many of our members have formed life friendships with their fellow singers.  What a bonus!

Mary Patrick - Vice President

Mary has been a member of Sweet Adelines International for over 35 years.

During that time she was a member of River District Chorus, St. Clair, Michigan; transferred to East Pointe Chorus/Shoreline in 1990, and sings Lead. Since being elected to the chorus board, she has served in several areas including ways and means, standing rules, secretary, costume chair and president.

She has been active in the administration of Border Lakes Region 2 in many areas.  Beginning in the early 90’s and she was elected to the Board of Directors and served in several different capacities from ways and means, standing rules, and treasurer.  Under the Regional Management Team governance she served as Finance Coordinator, Membership Coordinator and Team Coordinator. Over the past four years she has served as Chair of the Regional Convention.

After 20+ years as an Benefits Administrator in the automotive industry, Mary pursued a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from Wayne State University at the age of 50.  On completion of her degree, she found her dream job at Cardinal Mooney Catholic, as Librarian!  She retired after 16 years, but still volunteers at the school and for several other organizations.

Hobbies include reading and sewing.

Nancy Aird - Membership Coordinator

I have been a member of Shoreline Sound Chorus, Sweet Adelines since 1990. I have served as Membership Coordinator since 1992. It is an honor and joy to induct new and returning members plus keeping the current, on leave or extended leave and former members informed of our various activities. I have also been a front row dancer for 28 years which I attribute to keeping me “young”, ha ha and fit! My goal is to continue recruiting women of good singing ability so they can experience performing and gain new friendships along that path!

I have been retired seven years and served as an office manager/x-ray tech at a chiropractic clinic for 25 years and another 25 years as a purchasing agent in the automotive field. Much of my free time is now spent with two teen grandchildren and two very energetic grandsons ages three and one year old.

Besides my grandchildren, I enjoy singing and dancing, traveling, golf, reading and movie dates with my hubby of 52 years where I met snow skiing at Pine Knob.

Darlene Zivojnovity - Recording Secretary

Music has been part of my life. In junior high school I played the clarinet and alto clarinet in the orchestra. I sang in Glee Club. In High school I played the clarinet in the marching band, the bass clarinet in concert band and symphony orchestra. I was part of Berkley High A Capella Chorus where I sang first soprano. I have been part of Sweet Adeline’s for 9 years all with Shoreline Sound Chorus. I sing Bass. I am currently the Board  Recording Secretary.

I am currently employed at Michigan Physicians Group, a multi-speciality  physicians’ office.

I would like to pass my love of music on to others. Music, especially singing, has been proven to be good for your health; it keeps you young and alert.

Nancy Swift - Treasurer

I have been a member of Sweet Adelines International and Shoreline Sound Chorus for over 11 years.  I have served as Secretary and am currently the Treasurer of the chorus.

I am a retired executive assistant.  My hobbies include reading, travelling, DIY projects and of course singing.  Music is laughter of the heart and without a doubt singing makes you feel better, especially with a group.  I highly recommend it!

Diane Catellane - Master Director

Diane's been Master Director for 20 of the 40 years she's been with Shoreline Sound.  She literally grew up with the barbershop sound. Her father, Nick, was a long-time-barber-shopper, got her started at age five.  In 1978, she, along with her mother Catherine and sister Claudia, became charter members in a little chorus that was to go on to become the acclaimed East Pointe Show Chorus, since renamed Shoreline Sound Chorus. She has received accolades for her work with chorus and quartets with individual Private Vocal Instructions.

Shoreline Sound Show Chorus is extremely proud to have Diane as its director.  She has come full circle, from a novice teenager, to our esteemed leader. We hope to have her in front of the risers for many years to come.

Diane has sung lead in International-level quartet, Top Priority. (Placing second on the International stage--no small feat!) Her vast knowledge of musical production brings Shoreline Sound Show Chorus Competition medals. She's in great demand as a coach, and willingly shares her expertise with Sweet Adeline and The Barbershop Harmony Society quartets and choruses.

She is Director of Recruiting for Midwest Memorial Group in her real-life work.  Among her many interests, she enjoys golfing, camping and skiing most.  Her dog, Maggie May is an important part of her life.

Vivian Doumani - Ways and Means

I am proud member of Sweet Adelines International for 32 years, 14 of which are with Shoreline Sound Chorus Region 2.  I am a retiree from Windsor Regional Hospital Windsor Ontario where I served for twenty years as a Medical Records Technician.   After many years of singing in school and church choirs I realized a life long dream of singing in 4 part harmony with this talented chorus of gifted ladies.

One of my goals has been to reach out and give as much to the chorus as they have given me.  As a result, I have been rewarded with winning competitions with Shoreline Sound at the regional level and life long memories of International participation.  As well, the friendships and learning experiences have helped me realize the true spirit of sisterhood.   The true reward is helping to promote the beautiful sound of barbershop harmony.

It has been a sincere pleasure for me to hold office as a board member of the Shoreline Sound Chorus and to help out in any way to further the success of one of the best choruses in Region Two.

Judy Surit - Finance Coordinator

I joined Sweet Adelines in February 2011 and sing Baritone for the Shoreline Sound Chorus. I joined Shoreline’s board in 2016 and has also served on Region 2’s Management Team as Marketing Coordinator (from 2012 through 2015) and Finance Coordinator (from 2015 through 2019).

I am Principal Financial Analyst for DTE Energy and have been married to my husband Ed for over 30 years.
